Reposting, since I originally posted this in the wrong category! I ...

Full time daycare or send to grandma's: Full time infant care in our area is over $1400/month. Doing such, we would be living paycheck to paycheck, none left over for savings/emergencies. Widowed Mother in law who lives in our neighborhood(kindly and generously) offered to babysit our soon to be infant, full time for us (she already watches her other grandaughter full time as well). Here are the problems with this arrangement however: 1)mother in law would not respect my wishes on how to do things (i have witnessed first hand, the drama that goes on between her and her daughter, regarding the granddaughter she is currently caring for during the day). 2)Mother in law is the worlds worst driver. Even if husband and I dropped off/picked up baby every day, we could definately not ban her to staying home each day confined to the house or whats in 'walking distance'. 3)I will be on mother in law overload. Seeing mother in law 5 days/week plus weekends (our family gets together alot), would be really tough on me as she in general causes me anxiety. So, ladies, what would YOU do. Would you suffer financially, and have peace of mind (which is what we would have to do if we didnt live near to mother in law anyway)...or would you have a little more money in your pocket and go OUT of your mind with nerves and stress on a daily basis for the next few years. Husband thinks this arrangement is a 'no brainer' and is very firm on his stance. I also checked into doing a sort of half week with mother in law half time in daycare option, but the cost is not much less, so at that point why not just pay full time and save myself the anxiety. Please share your thoughts!! :) Thanks
