Remains of the Day: IFTTT Gets Some New Gmail TriggersIFTTT adds new triggers, Gmail gets a minor update, TweetDeck for Mac catches up to Chrome, and Microsoft Messenger gets an end date.

  • New Gmail Triggers Web-based automation app If This Than That has added two new triggers to use with Gmail. You can now set up a conditional command using the phrases "any new email" and "new starred email." [IFTTT Twitter]
  • Add labels and stars in the new compose Gmail's compose window now lets you label and star messages from within. Just click "More options" and hover over "Label." [Gmail Google+ Page]
  • Tweetdeck For Mac Catches Up With Chrome, New Version Offers 90 Fixes & Updates Twitter updated it's TweetDeck for Mac app today in order to add features that the Chrome received last month. This includes search improvements typeahead and PeopleSearch?the former gives you autocompleted suggestions of search terms while the latter lists user account matches. You can also tweak the interface to reduce it to a two-column display and change the color scheme. [TechCrunch]
  • Microsoft confirms Messenger will be retired and users migrated to Skype on March 15 Yesterday Microsoft began emailing all Windows Messenger users to notify them that the service will be retired on March 15, 2013. That's the day that all Messenger users will have to migrate to Skype. Fortunately, that's very easy to do: just download Skype, and you'll be able to log in with your Microsoft account with all your Messenger contacts intact. [The Next Web]
