We recognise the different play styles and skill levels that certain games accommodate. We also promote well being between different playing styles and levels throughout your game. SoX Members play a wide variety of games in every genre and mod, and we support them as much as we can.
Our standards are firm but fair to ensure all our members (18+) enjoy participating and sharing knowledge in competitive activities involving skill, chance, or endurance on the part of two or more persons who play according to a set of rules, usually for their own amusement or for that of spectators.
We understand that Real Life is the most important and are happy for all the time we have together. Our staff at The Gaming Standard is all volunteer and we are thankful for everything they can bring to the table!

We understand that everyone has their own pace and we do everything we can to accommodate that here at SoX. We have everyone from the "hardcore dungeon speed clear group" to "the slow and steady". We work to develop our new players, help them to better understand the game. Guild Leaders and Officers hold weekly events which help everyone through some of the harder parts of the game. This allows the very experienced player a chance to teach the less experienced. We like to foster a friendly, helpful, stress-free, drama-free, adult gaming experience.

WvW & sPvP

SoX is a strong WvW guild. We currently have 6 Commanders in Sea Of Sorrows in the top tier in WvW. We have squads in WvW around the clock with more structured play with a Commander is on. Check out these videos of when SoX took control of Stonemist Castle in the WvW Eternal Battleground!

We understand that PvP type play isn?t for everyone and can even be scary for new players. Our training and "Midweek Madness" WvW nights allow our more timid or inexperienced PvPers a chance to come out and learn. This offers a less stressful, helpful, and fun time to learn the parts of the game that you might not want to venture into on your own.
We also hold a weekly training night for sPvP "Monday in the Mists" where guild members all play together on one server in a competitive but friendly environment where we help each other discussing builds, completing our weekly and monthly achievements.
